Our work in social policy is guided by the principle that every person deserves the opportunity to lead a dignified life, no matter their circumstances. We strongly believe that social policy must be informed by the people and communities that the policies affect.
Our expert team works with governments, peak bodies, not-for-profit and community organisations to help prevent and address social issues, and to make sure that people have a meaningful voice in social policies and reforms that affect them or their families.
Through rigorous research, stakeholder and community engagement, and a commitment to designing evidence-based solutions, we help our clients shape and implement social policies that meet current needs but are also resilient and adaptive to the challenges of the future.
We have worked with governments and organisations on projects across the social sector, including in the areas of housing and homelessness; disability policy and reforms; aged care reforms; and social and community cohesion.
The Social Deck acknowledges the traditional custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. Our staff live and work on the lands of many First Nations peoples, including the Gubbi Gubbi or Kabi Kabi people, the Turrbal and Yuggera people, the Bundjalung people, the Ngarigo and Ngunnawal people and the Wadawurrung people. These peoples have lived on and cared for these lands for thousands of generations, and their sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to elders past and present.
